Rock Star Jam is the ultimate rock music camp for ages Seven through sixteen. Each day at Rock Star Jam is filled with fun, learning and musical accomplishment! Campers are supervised at all times by our experienced staff as they make new friends and learn to play together in their bands. Rock Star Jam is held in Baltimore, MD on the beautiful campus of The Roland Park Country School with full access to the main stage.
Campers study the instrument of their choice, form bands, write songs and perform a Friday concert for friends and family. The concert is professionally recorded on audio and video. MP-3s and videos are posted right here for free download! Instruments offered include: guitar, bass, drums, voice, ukulele and piano, however, if a camper wishes to bring along another instrument they are certainly welcome to play it in the band. Classes are small and focused on learning music, not just memorizing song fingerings. We take pride in teaching songwriting and the creative process of making music.
Campers get two one hour instrument classes, two one hour band rehearsals and one hour of jam time with their band each day. The rest of the day is completed with rotating activities such as recreation, special music classes called clinics, celebrity guest performances, and fun at the open mic! Absolute beginners, intermediate and advanced players are all welcomed! Rock Star Jam is awesome and we're looking forward to working with you!
The concert is in the Sinex Theater and starts promptly at 5:00 PM on Friday. This is the culmination of our program. Everyone should attend and bring friends and family. There's plenty of room! The campers appreciate it if the parents stay for the whole concert so that everyone plays for a big crowd!
